D3 · Who do I ask?

Not sure who to ask? Start here.

Pick what you are stuck on. Three clicks at most and you get a role to ask, where to ask, what to have ready, and what to do if nobody answers.

This page names roles, not people — so it stays correct when teams change. Ask your PM or Line Manager who holds a role on your team if you are not sure.

PM of your team

Owns delivery of the project: the plan, the sprint, effort, scope, risk, and all communication with the customer.

Line Manager

Owns you, not the project: level and growth, evaluation, training, workload, and anything about how you are doing. Not the same person as your PM.

Tech Lead of your team

Owns the technical approach, architecture and code standards. Not every team has one — where there is none, ask the most senior SE on the team.

BA of the project

Owns the requirement: what the customer actually asked for, acceptance criteria, and the questions that go back to the PO.

QE of your team

Owns quality on the project: test coverage, the acceptance decision, and disputes about whether something is a bug.

Excellence team

D3's own enablement team: quality and QE at department level, technical mentoring, tooling and AI, and internal training.

PQA

Owns process compliance at project level: which parts of SDLP a project applies, gate artifacts, and internal audit.

Head of D3

The department head. The escalation point for anything that is stuck, and the direct contact for anything sensitive.

ITS

IT and information security — one department. Machines, accounts, access, software, network, and security incidents. The security regulation calls this team ISMS.

Admin

Office, assets and welfare: access cards, meeting rooms, facilities, travel, timekeeping data, and everything to do with insurance and health.

HR

People administration: contracts, payroll, tax, certificates, onboarding and offboarding. Insurance is Admin, not HR.

L&D

Company-level training and certification programmes.

ITS and the ISMS team named in the security regulation are the same department. This page says ITS throughout.
